Lt. Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) is retiring after he marries his beloved Jane Spencer (Priscilla Presley). His life is now, for change very peaceful and tranquil, a regular family life. But, his wife is desperate for a baby and he for his exciting job. He gets a call from his former boss, Captain Ed Hocken (George Kennedy) and his former partner Nordberg (O.J. Simpson) to help them out. His assignment is to go undercover in the state prison Statesville and to make friends with a top terrorist Rocco (Fred Ward), and to try to find out what is his next target. His wife is so disappointed when he accepts this assignment and she has to choose whether she'll stay with him or leave him. In the meantime, Frank and Rocco become good friends and they escape together and working on a plan to set the bomb at the Academy awards ceremony...
