The Andromeda Strain is a story about the ultimate alien invasion. A US research satellite from space crashes in the town of Piedmont, New Mexico. Very shortly thereafter, the entire town begins to die horrible deaths with the exception of an old man and a very young baby. Now a team of scientists, Dr. Jeremy Stone (Arthur Hill), Dr. Charles Dutton (David Wayne), Dr. Mark Hall (James Olson) and Dr. Ruth Leavitt (Kate Reid), are wrangled in an underground think-tank racing to find an antidote to the alien plague, the most powerful biological weapon on Earth, before it wipes out all of humankind. |
